15104966D WHEREAS, the Honaker High School football team finished the regular season undefeated to advance to the playoffs and won the Virginia High School League Group 1A state quarterfinal game on November 29, 2014; and WHEREAS, the Honaker High School Tigers finished the regular season 10–0 and won the Black Diamond District title; the Tigers defeated Twin Springs High School and Radford High School in the first and second rounds of the playoffs; and WHEREAS, in the state quarterfinal, the Honaker High School Tigers defeated the Wythe High School Maroons by an impressive score of 35–3; and WHEREAS, the Honaker High School Tigers advanced to the state semifinal against the defending state champions, the Altavista Combined School Colonels; and WHEREAS, the successful season is a testament to the hard work of all the athletes, the leadership of the coaches and staff, and the enthusiastic support of the entire Honaker High School community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Honaker High School football team hereby be commended on winning the 2014 Virginia High School League Group 1A state quarterfinal game after an undefeated regular season; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Doug Hubbard, head coach of the Honaker football team, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's accomplishments. |
