WHEREAS, Criselda dela Cruz Fernandez of Virginia Beach, a woman of great faith who belonged to many civic organizations and groups that celebrated Filipino heritage and a devoted wife and mother, died on February 28, 2016; and WHEREAS, Criselda Fernandez was a native of the Philippines who lived in the United States for many years; she loved spending time with her family and kept busy with numerous interests and activities; and WHEREAS, as an active member of many organizations, Criselda Fernandez made valued contributions to Samahang Tagalog, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, East Coast San Antonian Inc., Zambales Association Inc., and the United Ilocano Association of Tidewater; and WHEREAS, Criselda Fernandez's many hobbies included traveling, taking cruises, shopping, and spending time with her family; she especially delighted in being a part of her grandchildren's activities, attending her grandson's baseball games, and sharing good times with her siblings; and WHEREAS, a woman of deep faith, Criselda Fernandez enjoyed faith and fellowship as a member of the Catholic Church of Saint Mark; and WHEREAS, Criselda Fernandez will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her husband, Federico; children, Shirlene and Cyril, and their families; and many other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Criselda dela Cruz Fernandez of Virginia Beach, a woman of great faith who was actively involved in her community and her church and a devoted wife and mother; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Criselda dela Cruz Fernandez as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory. |
