Commending Jeff Morse.

WHEREAS, Jeff Morse, a longtime member of the Loudoun County School Board who proved to be a fierce advocate and proponent of the Dulles District in which he served, retired from the Loudoun County School Board in 2023; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Morse has always been deeply invested in the students, staff, and community of Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), and he worked tirelessly to advance the mission, core beliefs, and strategic goals of the Loudoun County School Board (LCSB); and

WHEREAS, Jeff Morse was elected in 2011 to the LCSB and re-elected in 2015 and 2019; during his tenure with the LCSB, he provided outstanding leadership and guidance to LCPS; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Morse served as chair of the LCSB for four terms, playing a pivotal role in the board's accomplishments over that time; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Morse has served as chair on various LCSB committees, including what is now the Student Behavior and Accountability Committee, the Specialized Programs and Centers Committee, the Human Resources and Talent Development Committee, what is now the Finance and Operations Committee, and the Communications and Outreach Committee; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Morse also served as a member of the Joint Committee with the Board of Supervisors and the Ad Hoc Committee on the Academies of Loudoun and as a liaison to the Loudoun Education Foundation, the LCPS Gifted Education Advisory Committee, and Washington Area Boards of Education; and

WHEREAS, with great honor, integrity, and distinction, Jeff Morse served faithfully as a member of the LCSB for 12 years, demonstrating a deep devotion to LCPS and its students; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Jeff Morse hereby be commended on the occasion of his retirement from the Loudoun County School Board; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jeff Morse as an expression of the House of Delegates' profound appreciation for his distinguished service.
