WHEREAS, Gary L. Fitts retired after 19 years of exemplary service to the Pittsylvania County Board of Zoning Appeals; and WHEREAS, Gary Fitts was a charter member of the zoning board, which was formed in 1991 to hear and decide zoning appeals, special-use permits, variances, and sign permits; and WHEREAS, Gary Fitts was admired by her fellow members for her wealth of knowledge and commonsense approach to the issues they faced; and WHEREAS, a vocal member of the board, Gary Fitts enjoyed the opportunity to serve her community and ably discussed and voiced her opinion about the myriad issues before the board; and WHEREAS, a woman of great integrity and dedication, Gary Fitts has generously given of her time and talents to her community and fellow residents for almost two decades; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Gary L. Fitts for her service on the Pittsylvania County Board of Zoning Appeals; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Gary L. Fitts as an expression of the General Assembly's gratitude and admiration for her service to Pittsylvania County. |
