WHEREAS, the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra, a premier regional symphony dedicated to enriching its community through music, presents One Planet, One Community on June 1, 2024, at Ion Arena in Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra (LSO) concert realizes Maestro Kim Allen Kluge's post-pandemic vision of nurturing community resilience by recognizing global connectedness and by embracing care of one another and our planet, with a shared conviction that all humans are innately creative; and
WHEREAS, the LSO's collaborative performing and visual arts project will showcase art submissions from throughout the region, including professional artists and Loudoun County Public Schools students; and
WHEREAS, during the performance, the LSO will perform works including The Planets by Gustav Holst and music from Star Wars, Star Trek, and U2's Where the Streets Have No Name alongside world-champion ice dancers, while community art submissions will be projected on a large screen behind the orchestra; and
WHEREAS, the LSO's upcoming performance will contribute to the orchestra's legacy of providing enriching, educational, engaging, and entertaining programs for the enjoyment of the Loudoun County community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra for its success with the One Planet, One Community performance; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the orchestra's achievements and best wishes for its continued success.
