WHEREAS, Danna C. Giusti of Arlington, a hardworking civil servant and a respected expert on federal records and the Freedom of Information Act, retires from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2016, after 42 years of diligent service; and WHEREAS, Danna Giusti was reared in Fort Knox, Kentucky, and began her long and fulfilling career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after graduating from Meade County High School; and WHEREAS, serving in the FBI's Records Management Division (RMD) for her entire career, Danna Giusti demonstrated a firm grasp of records management and developed an understanding of the complex laws and regulations related to federal recordkeeping; and WHEREAS, Danna Giusti rose through the ranks to become unit chief of the Freedom of Information/Privacy Act Unit in the RMD's Record/Information Dissemination Section, where she ably led a staff of 24 employees and was a trusted mentor and trainer for all new employees; and WHEREAS, throughout her career, Danna Giusti demonstrated outstanding judgment and leadership in responding to highly technical Freedom of Information Act requests, and she leaves a legacy of excellence to her peers in the field; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Danna C. Giusti on the occasion of her retirement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Danna C. Giusti as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her dedicated service to the nation and contributions to open government. |
