HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 32
Commending the Cave Spring High School girls' 200-yard freestyle relay swim team.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 13, 2012
Agreed to by the Senate, January 19, 2012

WHEREAS, the 2010 - 2011 Cave Spring High School girls' swim team won the state title in the 200-yard freestyle relay during the Virginia High School League Group A/AA Swimming Championship held in Christiansburg; and

WHEREAS, the black-and-scarlet clad members of the relay team from Roanoke County were Amy Mayo, Hailey Bivens, Lauren Cowher, and Ali Horn; and

WHEREAS, the team, which had tried hard in the last four years to capture the girls' 200-yard freestyle relay title, was excited to add that victory to its list of accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, the triumphant performance of the swim team was the culmination of years of effort and hours of practice; and

WHEREAS, the winning time for the hard-working team was 1 minute and 38.95 seconds, with individual times of 25.22, 25.20, 24.99, and 23.54; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the 2010 – 2011 Cave Spring High School girls' 200-yard freestyle relay swim team on its winning efforts at the Virginia High School League Group A/AA state championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the 2010 - 2011 Cave Spring High School head swim coach as an expression of the General Assembly's congratulations and admiration for the Cave Spring High School girls' 200-yard freestyle relay team's outstanding performance.
