HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 169 Commending the Poquoson Little League 11 - 12 Baseball All-Star team.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 13, 2012 Agreed to by the Senate, January 19, 2012

WHEREAS, the Poquoson Little League 11 - 12 Baseball All-Star team capped an exciting 2011 summer by capturing the District 7 title and advancing to the state Little League tournament; and

WHEREAS, the team, chosen from among 60 players on five Little League teams, consisted of Brett Bradshaw, Bryce Corbitt, John Costulis, Jared Davis, Wesley Eshelman, Austin Gault, Trey Hicks, Stephen Holloway, Cole Jackson, Jesse Lauffenburger, and John Mastrogianakis; and

WHEREAS, the Poquoson Little League 11 - 12 Baseball All-Star team members trained diligently and demonstrated their skill throughout the District 7 tournament, advancing to the championship game and defeating York County American 19 - 8; and

WHEREAS, at the state competition held in Leesburg, the Poquoson Little League 11 - 12 Baseball All-Star team continued to excel and made it to the semi-final round; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership of manager Ronnie Bradshaw and coaches John Costulis and Mark Davis, the Poquoson Little League 11 - 12 Baseball All-Star team exhibited great talent, spirit, team work, and sportsmanship; and

WHEREAS, the Poquoson Little League All-Star teams enjoyed a remarkable 2011 season with the 9 - 10, 10 - 11, and 11 - 12 teams all taking home the District 7 titles and representing the district at state competition, a coveted triple crown believed to be the first for Poquoson Little League; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend the Poquoson Little League 11 - 12 Baseball All-Star team on winning the District 7 baseball tournament and representing District 7 at the state Little League tournament; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Poquoson Little League 11 - 12 Baseball All-Star team as an expression of the General Assembly's congratulations and admiration for the team's championship performance.
