HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 108
Commending Hunt Smile Design.

WHEREAS, Hunt Smile Design, a highly respected preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dental care practice in Poquoson, celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2024; and

WHEREAS, Hunt Smile Design was founded as Hunt Dentistry in 1924 by Dr. John F. Hunt, Jr., who moved the practice from Hampton to his hometown of Poquoson after its first year in business; and

WHEREAS, Dr. John F. Hunt, Jr., was later joined at what is now Hunt Smile Design by his son, Dr. John F. Hunt III, who continues to visit the office and support its operations in a consulting role to this day; and

WHEREAS, Dr. William "Bill" Hunt, son of Dr. John F. Hunt III, continued the family tradition by joining Hunt Smile Design, alongside his wife, Dr. Dawn Hunt, in 1989; his sister Susan would also soon join the practice and care for patients in its hygiene department; and

WHEREAS, William Hunt, son of Dr. Bill Hunt, will graduate in 2024 from the Claude A. Adams Jr. and Grace Phillips Adams School of Dentistry at the University of North Carolina, continuing the family tradition; and

WHEREAS, Hunt Smile Design's state-of-the-art care incorporates a variety of dental services, including porcelain veneers, smile makeovers, teeth whitening, implants, and more; and

WHEREAS, Hunt Smile Design has earned a sterling reputation in the Poquoson, York, and Hampton Roads area for its ability to give its patients bright, healthy smiles of which they can be confident and proud; and

WHEREAS, through its devotion to providing exceptional care to its patients over the past 100 years, Hunt Smile Design has helped to make Poquoson a wonderful place to live, work, and keep your teeth healthy; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Hunt Smile Design for its service on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Hunt Smile Design as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the practice's history and its contributions to the health and wellness of the Poquoson community.
