A BILL to amend and reenact § 22.1-78 of the Code of Virginia, relating to local school boards; meeting procedures.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That § 22.1-78 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§22.1-78. Bylaws and regulations.

A school board may adopt bylaws and regulations, not inconsistent with state statutes and regulations of the Board of Education, for its own government, for the management of its official business and for the supervision of schools, including but not limited to the proper discipline of students, including their conduct going to and returning from school. Meetings of a school board shall be conducted in accordance with the most recent edition of Robert's Rules of Order.
