HOUSE BILL NO. 491 Offered January 8, 2014 Prefiled January 6, 2014 A BILL to amend and reenact §58.1-4014.1 of the Code of Virginia, relating to state lottery; method of payment for purchase of tickets. ---------- Patron-- Albo ---------- Committee Referral Pending ----------

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That §58.1-4014.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§58.1-4014.1. Method of payment for purchase of tickets or shares.

Lottery For the purchase of lottery tickets or shares, lottery sales agents licensed in accordance with this chapter shall accept only cash or debit cards in payment for the purchase of lottery tickets or shares electronic payment, provided such payment deducts funds directly from an existing account of the purchaser and no credit is thereby extended.
