A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 52-28.2, relating to justifiable homicide; reporting requirement.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 52-28.2 as follows:

§52-28.2. Reporting of justifiable homicides; inclusion in annual Crime in Virginia report.

The Department of State Police shall include justifiable homicides involving a law-enforcement officer in the annual Crime in Virginia report. Any law-enforcement or public safety officer required to report such homicides shall receive training concerning such reporting requirement.
