A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section
numbered 45.1-391.1, relating to renewable energy storage projects; brownfields
and reclaimed lands; regulations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 45.1-391.1 as follows:
§45.1-391.1. Renewable energy storage projects; brownfields and reclaimed lands.
The Department shall adopt regulations allowing appropriate (i) brownfields, as defined in § 10.1-1230, and (ii) mined lands reclaimed pursuant to Chapter 19 (§45.1-226 et seq.) to be developed as sites for renewable energy storage projects.
