HOUSE BILL NO. 1294 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the Senate Committee on Local Government on February 28, 2012) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Spruill) A BILL to prohibit certain local fees related to religious institutions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. Localities shall not charge any fee to any church, synagogue, or other place of worship unless explicitly authorized by general law. Nothing in this act shall apply to any fire and life safety inspection fees.
