Summary

Emergency medical services personnel; background checks; process. Allows local governments, by adoption of an ordinance, to use an alternative method for criminal history background checks for emergency medical services personnel. Emergency medical services agencies in such localities shall require applicants to submit fingerprints and personal identifying information to be provided directly to the Central Criminal Records Exchange, which shall forward the results of the state and national records search to the local government or chief law-enforcement officer of the locality, who shall notify the Office of Emergency Medical Services of the applicant's eligibility for employment or volunteer service.
