Summary

Assisted living facilities; self-administration of medications. Requires the Board of Social Services to include in regulations governing the administration and management of medications in assisted living facilities developed by the Board of Social Services in conjunction with the Board of Nursing and the Board of Pharmacy a provision that a resident for whom the uniform assessment indicates the ability to self-administer medications may store medications that would normally be self-administered in a secure location in his room, may self-administer such medications, and shall not be required to allow the facility to store or administer such medications or pay any cost associated with the storage or administration of such medications.
