Summary

License plate reader database; penalty. Requires the Department of State Police to maintain a license plate reader database under the control of the Virginia Fusion Intelligence Center. Data can be accessed for grand jury proceedings and by law-enforcement agencies conducting criminal investigations. Unauthorized access to or dissemination of license plate reader data is a Class 4 misdemeanor.
