Summary
Board of Medicine; membership. Changes membership requirements for the Board of Medicine, replacing requirements for one medical physician from each congressional district and one osteopathic physician with a requirement for 12 allopathic or osteopathic medical physicians. The bill also revises the process for nominating candidates for membership, requiring the Board of Medicine to evaluate nominations made by relevant state medical societies and make recommendations to the Governor based on the individual competencies and specialties of the nominees and competencies and specialties of the current membership of the Board. This bill is carried over pursuant to Rule 22 of the House.
