Summary

Reaffirms the U.S. arms embargo on China. Calls upon the President, consistent with the Taiwan Relations Act, to clarify his policy towards Taiwan and to reaffirm support for U.S. allies in the region. Expresses concern over China's repression of political dissidents and religious and ethnic minorities. Reasserts that it should be U.S. policy to oppose any diminution of the European Union (EU) arms embargo against China.
