Summary

To direct the Secretary of the Treasury to establish a program for issuing identity protection personal identification numbers (IP PINs) to adopted children for purposes of tax administration. This bill requires the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to establish a program under which the legal guardian of an adopted child may obtain an identity protection personal identification number (IP PIN) for the child to prevent an individual from improperly claiming tax benefits with respect to the child. The IRS may require a child's IP PIN to be included in a tax return as a condition of receiving any tax benefit with respect to the child.
