Joyce Ann Milke Boll | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
commemorates the life of Joyce Ann Milke Boll, who died April 17, | ||
2013, at the age of 89; and | ||
WHEREAS, Joyce Boll was born September 12, 1923, in | ||
Prentice, Wisconsin; she was a 1941 graduate of Antigo High | ||
School and completed her studies at the Saint Joseph School of | ||
Nursing in Chicago in 1944; she then received her commission as a | ||
second lieutenant in the United States Army and served the | ||
country with distinction during World War II; and | ||
WHEREAS, After the war, she married her high school | ||
sweetheart, the late United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel | ||
Raymond Mitchell Boll, and the couple enjoyed 62 years of | ||
marriage together; she continued her professional career, | ||
serving as a registered nurse in Illinois and California and | ||
retiring as a critical care nurse in Fort Worth; and | ||
WHEREAS, She balanced her roles as a professional and a | ||
homemaker with grace and equanimity, and she always managed to | ||
find time to make lunch for her school-aged children and their | ||
friends; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mrs. Boll practiced her faith in her daily life; | ||
she was a member of Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, and | ||
she made a pilgrimage to the Vatican; and | ||
WHEREAS, A woman of courage, compassion and generosity, | ||
she gave unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and | ||
valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who were privileged | ||
to share in her life; and | ||
WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, | ||
and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by | ||
her family and her many friends; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
family of Joyce Ann Milke Boll; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Joyce Ann Milke Boll. | ||
