SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 994
In Memory
of
Joyce Ann Milke Boll
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
commemorates the life of Joyce Ann Milke Boll, who died April 17,
2013, at the age of 89; and
WHEREAS, Joyce Boll was born September 12, 1923, in
Prentice, Wisconsin; she was a 1941 graduate of Antigo High
School and completed her studies at the Saint Joseph School of
Nursing in Chicago in 1944; she then received her commission as a
second lieutenant in the United States Army and served the
country with distinction during World War II; and
WHEREAS, After the war, she married her high school
sweetheart, the late United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel
Raymond Mitchell Boll, and the couple enjoyed 62 years of
marriage together; she continued her professional career,
serving as a registered nurse in Illinois and California and
retiring as a critical care nurse in Fort Worth; and
WHEREAS, She balanced her roles as a professional and a
homemaker with grace and equanimity, and she always managed to
find time to make lunch for her school-aged children and their
friends; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Boll practiced her faith in her daily life;
she was a member of Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, and
she made a pilgrimage to the Vatican; and
WHEREAS, A woman of courage, compassion and generosity,
she gave unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and
valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who were privileged
to share in her life; and
WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother,
and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
her family and her many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
family of Joyce Ann Milke Boll; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
memory of Joyce Ann Milke Boll.
