WHEREAS, Judy Evans Jordan retired as the administrative | ||
assistant to the Harrison County Commissioners Court on | ||
June 30, 2017, drawing to a close an exceptional career in public | ||
service that spanned more than four decades; and | ||
WHEREAS, After serving in a secretarial capacity at a wood | ||
preserving company, Judy Jordan accepted in 1975 the newly | ||
created post of administrative assistant for the Harrison County | ||
Commissioners Court; over the course of her distinguished tenure | ||
in that office, she worked for 27 commissioners, 7 county judges, | ||
and 20 different commissioners courts and handled myriad vital | ||
tasks, from addressing the needs of constituents to researching | ||
statutes and laws and gathering information for the annual fiscal | ||
budget; and | ||
WHEREAS, Highly regarded for her professionalism and | ||
efficiency, Judy Jordan earned a reputation for going above and | ||
beyond in the performance of her duties, and she played an | ||
instrumental role in helping each commissioner fulfill their | ||
respective goals; moreover, she served as a mentor to members of | ||
the court by sharing with them her extensive knowledge of county | ||
government and of the court's institutional history; and | ||
WHEREAS, For more than 40 years, Judy Jordan has served the | ||
citizens of Harrison County with dedication, integrity, and a | ||
boundless commitment to excellence, and she may indeed reflect | ||
with pride on her many accomplishments as she embarks on the next | ||
chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Judy Evans | ||
Jordan on her retirement as the Harrison County Commissioners | ||
Court administrative assistant and extend to her sincere best | ||
wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
Ms. Jordan as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
