| WHEREAS, Samuel Garcia has been selected by Forbes | ||
| magazine for inclusion in the venture capital category of its | ||
| 2024 30 Under 30 list, which recognizes young innovators in a | ||
| range of fields; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sam Garcia earned his place on the list for his | ||
| role as a partner at Amplo, a Texas-based venture capital fund; | ||
| with six years of experience in venture capitalism, he focuses on | ||
| investing in early-stage tech companies, serving on the boards of | ||
| Lightyear, Flume, Kredi, Tradespace, Wizehire, Steno, Axion Ray, | ||
| and Doxel; he further contributes to the industry as vice | ||
| president of LatinxVC; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A native of Mission, Mr. Garcia holds a bachelor's | ||
| degree from The University of Texas at Austin Canfield Business | ||
| Honors Program and a juris doctor degree from Harvard Law School; | ||
| one of the youngest Hispanic faculty members in the history of | ||
| Harvard Law School, he will be teaching Applying Legal Knowledge | ||
| in VC Business Diligence in spring 2024; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through his hard work and commitment to | ||
| excellence, Sam Garcia has set an example to which all in his | ||
| field may aspire, and this prestigious honor is a fitting tribute | ||
| to all that he has accomplished; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
| Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Samuel | ||
| Garcia on his inclusion on the Forbes magazine 2024 30 Under 30 | ||
| list and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; | ||
| and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Garcia as an expression of high regard from the | ||
| Texas Senate. | ||
