SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 738
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Rene Garza II, who has been named Pearson Elementary
  School Teacher of the Year; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Garza and his father, Rene G. Garza, who has
  been chosen as teacher of the year at Mission High School, are the
  first father and son duo to be named campus teachers of the year
  in the Mission Consolidated Independent School District; and
         WHEREAS, A fifth grade teacher at Pearson Elementary
  School, Mr. Garza was chosen by his teaching peers for this
  prestigious honor; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Garza is an exceptionally resourceful and
  dedicated educator whose skillful teaching methods inspire his
  students to continually strive for excellence; his encouragement
  and wise counsel serve to instill in his students a sense of pride
  and a lifelong love of learning; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his classroom duties, Mr. Garza
  serves as the announcer for Mission High School basketball games;
  he is truly deserving of recognition for his commitment to the
  importance of education and his many outstanding achievements;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Rene Garza II on his dedication to
  his students and extend congratulations to him on being named
  Pearson Elementary School Teacher of the Year; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
