WHEREAS, Kathi Seay is retiring as the policy and | ||
legislative director in the office of State Senator Bob Hall in | ||
2023; and | ||
WHEREAS, A stay-at-home mom for many years, Ms. Seay | ||
discovered her passion for public policy through her involvement | ||
with the Katy Independent School District; after moving to the | ||
Round Rock and Georgetown area in 1992, she began volunteering for | ||
the Texas Conservative Coalition, which she later served as | ||
executive director, and she cofounded the Patriot Academy, a | ||
nonprofit that mentors young adults on the legislative process; in | ||
1993, she won election to the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees; and | ||
WHEREAS, Ms. Seay joined the staff of the Texas | ||
Legislature in 2003, when she went to work for State | ||
Representative Frank Corte Jr.; she subsequently enjoyed a | ||
successful tenure with State Representative David Simpson before | ||
taking a position in the office of State Senator Bob Hall in 2016; | ||
over the years, her resourcefulness and initiative have earned | ||
the appreciation of her colleagues, and her contributions to | ||
carrying forth Senator Hall's legislative agenda have helped | ||
address issues facing citizens across the Lone Star State; and | ||
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Seay has drawn strength | ||
from a rewarding marriage with her husband, Jerry, and she takes | ||
great pride in her three children, Stormi, Kristi, and Matthew, | ||
and three grandchildren, Hannah, Hunter, and Remington; and | ||
WHEREAS, Kathi Seay's dedication, professionalism, and | ||
commitment to excellence have greatly benefited her fellow | ||
Texans, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well | ||
spent as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
Legislature, hereby congratulate Kathi Seay on retiring as the | ||
policy and legislative director in the office of State Senator | ||
Bob Hall and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; | ||
and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Seay as an expression of high regard from the | ||
Texas Senate. | ||
