Deborah Lynn Adams | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
citizens of The Woodlands in mourning the loss of Deborah Lynn | ||
Adams, who died May 15, 2011, at the age of 54; and | ||
WHEREAS, Deborah Lynn Adams was born May 5, 1957, in | ||
Kinder, Louisiana; she was an exemplary citizen who had an | ||
enormous impact on the lives of many who faced disabilities and | ||
addiction, and her commitment to service and love of life were | ||
inspirational; and | ||
WHEREAS, Over the course of her impressive career, she set | ||
a high standard for the services necessary to care for those who | ||
require assistance to live their daily lives with dignity and | ||
meaning; she established several intermediate care facilities | ||
for people with mental retardation across the state and played a | ||
vital role in founding numerous Home and Community-Based | ||
Services programs; and | ||
WHEREAS, A woman of courage, compassion, and joyous | ||
energy, she gave unselfishly to others, and her dedication to | ||
ensuring quality care, her generous spirit, and her enthusiasm | ||
for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those | ||
who knew her; and | ||
WHEREAS, Debbie Adams was devoted to her family, and | ||
although she will be greatly missed by all those who shared in her | ||
life, she will continue to live in their hearts and minds for | ||
years to come; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere | ||
condolences to the bereaved family of Deborah Lynn Adams: her | ||
children, Kaelynn Adams Haack and Cooper Adams Haack; her | ||
sisters, Billie Welch and Mary Roberts; and her nieces, nephews, | ||
cousins, and friends; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Debbie Lynn Adams. | ||
