SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 621
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Kennedy Young Jr. on the occasion of his inauguration
as pastor of East Gate Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Young is joining East Gate Missionary
Baptist Church after having served as pastor of College Hill
Missionary Baptist Church in Tyler for six years; he earned a
degree in pastoral ministry and family counseling at Criswell
College in 2000; and
WHEREAS, This dynamic young pastor has ministered
faithfully to the temporal and spiritual needs of his church
members, and the congregation of East Gate Missionary Baptist
Church is certain to continue growing and playing a vital role in
the life of the Dallas community under his leadership; and
WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion, Pastor
Young has had a profound impact on the lives of many people; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Pastor Kennedy Young Jr. on his
commitment to serving others and extend to him best wishes for
continued success in his new position as pastor of East Gate
Missionary Baptist Church; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
