SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 607
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Elisabeth Cowan on earning the Girl Scout Gold
Award; and
WHEREAS, Few Girl Scouts attain this distinguished award;
it is the highest level of achievement in the Girl Scout
program; and
WHEREAS, The Girl Scout program develops leadership skills
and organizational abilities and encourages a commitment to
community service; girls working toward the Girl Scout Gold Award
gain valuable experience that will contribute to their future
success; and
WHEREAS, To earn the Gold Award, Elisabeth met a series of
requirements that demonstrated her leadership abilities, and she
designed and conducted a service project that will have a
positive and lasting effect on her community; she planned and
delivered programs to help the residents at Golden Acres Nursing
Home improve their social skills and hand and eye
coordination; and
WHEREAS, By earning the Gold Award, Elisabeth has brought
honor to herself, her family, her council, and her community, and
she deserves recognition for her dedication and achievement;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Elisabeth Cowan on earning this
prestigious award and extend to her congratulations on her
exemplary accomplishment; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
