| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the Reverend Selvaraj Sinnappan, who is celebrating | ||
| his 44th birthday and the 18th anniversary of his ordination as a | ||
| priest; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Reverend Selvaraj Sinnappan is pastor of | ||
| Saint Therese Catholic Church in Canton; he studied for the | ||
| priesthood in his native India, where he served in five different | ||
| parishes before coming to the United States in 2003; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the last 18 years, Pastor Sinnappan has | ||
| ministered faithfully to the temporal and spiritual needs of | ||
| countless people; under his outstanding leadership, Saint | ||
| Therese Catholic Church has continued to grow and to play a vital | ||
| role in the life of the Canton community; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion, he has | ||
| prayed with and counseled the members of his congregation during | ||
| times of hardship and bereavement and rejoiced with them in times | ||
| of prosperity and celebration; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Inspirational and dedicated to helping others, | ||
| Pastor Sinnappan has devoted his time and energy unselfishly to | ||
| the members of his church and his community; now, therefore, be | ||
| it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the Reverend Selvaraj Sinnappan on | ||
| his 18 years of exemplary leadership in the priesthood, | ||
| congratulate him on his 44th birthday, and extend to him best | ||
| wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
