SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 529
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Texas Transportation Commissioner J. Bruce Bugg Jr., who
  is being honored by the San Antonio Mobility Coalition and San
  Antonio Chambers of Commerce at a reception on April 9, 2015; and
         WHEREAS, Commissioner Bugg was appointed to serve on the
  Texas Transportation Commission by Governor Greg Abbott on
  February 13, 2015; as a member of this important body, he will
  play a direct role in overseeing the statewide activities of the
  Texas Department of Transportation; and
         WHEREAS, Commissioner Bugg is a leader in the banking and
  investment industry in San Antonio, and he serves as an executive
  and board member for financial institutions across the area; and
         WHEREAS, He has been active in a wide variety of civic and
  philanthropic organizations, including the Tobin Endowment, the
  San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and the Texas Biomedical
  Research Institute; he is a cofounder of the Bexar County
  Performing Arts Center Foundation and a member of the board of
  directors of the Santa Fe Opera; and
         WHEREAS, Commissioner Bugg previously served the state as
  chairman and president of the Texas Economic Development
  Corporation and as a senior economic advisor to Governor Rick
  Perry; he also served as the governor's appointee on the board of
  directors of Humanities Texas; he is truly deserving of special
  recognition for his dedication to public service; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby commend Transportation Commissioner J. Bruce
  Bugg Jr. on his distinguished record of service to the state and
  extend to him best wishes for success in all his future
  endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
