| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Texas Transportation Commissioner J. Bruce Bugg Jr., who | ||
| is being honored by the San Antonio Mobility Coalition and San | ||
| Antonio Chambers of Commerce at a reception on April 9, 2015; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Commissioner Bugg was appointed to serve on the | ||
| Texas Transportation Commission by Governor Greg Abbott on | ||
| February 13, 2015; as a member of this important body, he will | ||
| play a direct role in overseeing the statewide activities of the | ||
| Texas Department of Transportation; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Commissioner Bugg is a leader in the banking and | ||
| investment industry in San Antonio, and he serves as an executive | ||
| and board member for financial institutions across the area; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He has been active in a wide variety of civic and | ||
| philanthropic organizations, including the Tobin Endowment, the | ||
| San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and the Texas Biomedical | ||
| Research Institute; he is a cofounder of the Bexar County | ||
| Performing Arts Center Foundation and a member of the board of | ||
| directors of the Santa Fe Opera; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Commissioner Bugg previously served the state as | ||
| chairman and president of the Texas Economic Development | ||
| Corporation and as a senior economic advisor to Governor Rick | ||
| Perry; he also served as the governor's appointee on the board of | ||
| directors of Humanities Texas; he is truly deserving of special | ||
| recognition for his dedication to public service; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Transportation Commissioner J. Bruce | ||
| Bugg Jr. on his distinguished record of service to the state and | ||
| extend to him best wishes for success in all his future | ||
| endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
