SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 5
         WHEREAS, Carolyn Burton Propes and her husband, William
  Harry Propes will celebrate the memorable occasion of their 50th
  wedding anniversary on September 2, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Carolyn Burton, born in Carlisle, Texas, and
  William Propes, born in Kilgore, Texas, were united in matrimony
  at Carlisle Baptist Church on a hot, humid day in 1961; through
  the years they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage, and today
  they take justifiable pride in their fine family, which includes
  two sons, Barry and Jay Propes, and three glorious grandchildren,
  Alexandra, Walker, and William Propes; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Propes are long-standing, respected
  members of the Tyler and Dallas communities; Mrs. Propes is an
  accountant who has worked for financial institutions, currently
  works at Guidestone Finance, and is very active in her church as a
  member of the Park Cities Baptist choir; Mr. Propes is a safety
  engineer with Anchor Risk Management Services and also lends his
  voice to the Park Cities Baptist choir; and
         WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is a celebration of
  love that has stood the test of time; in the case of Carolyn and
  William Propes, this test has included the challenges of multiple
  moves, from East Texas to Fort Sam Houston, Abilene,
  fortieth-anniversary
  vacation to Hawaii in September of 2001, when traveling was a
  challenge; and
         WHEREAS, This pair, however, has found the key to making it
  work; Carolyn and William Propes have now shared a richly
  rewarding five decades together, and the future looks certain to
  be infused with the same love, wisdom, and joy that have brought
  them to this wonderful milestone; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Carolyn and
  William Propes on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to
  them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
