WHEREAS, The Cen-Tex Sustainable Communities Partnership has | ||
demonstrated a steadfast commitment to improving the quality of | ||
life for residents of the Central Texas region; and | ||
WHEREAS, Established in 2009, the Cen-Tex partnership serves | ||
as a forum in which representatives of Fort Hood and the neighboring | ||
cities of Belton, Copperas Cove, Gatesville, Harker Heights, | ||
Killeen, Lampasas, Nolanville, and Salado come together to develop | ||
and implement sustainability efforts that enhance economic | ||
vitality while protecting human health and natural resources; and | ||
WHEREAS, The partnership promotes environmentally sound | ||
practices through such events as the Fort Hood Earth Fest, | ||
Gatesville Earth Day, and the Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful Eco | ||
Harvest; on April 24, 2023, in Salado, the Fort Hood garrison | ||
commander and mayors from partner cities are gathering in | ||
recognition of Sustainable Environment Month and to honor | ||
individuals and organizations with Environmental Ambassador | ||
Awards; schools involved in the Youth Environmental Ambassadors! | ||
program will also be recognized; and | ||
WHEREAS, Members of the Cen-Tex Sustainable Communities | ||
Partnership are working to build an even brighter future for the | ||
communities of Central Texas, and their exemplary efforts truly | ||
merit special recognition; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature | ||
hereby commend the Cen-Tex Sustainable Communities Partnership for | ||
its contributions to the region and extend to all those associated | ||
with the initiative sincere best wishes for continued success; and, | ||
be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
Senate. |
