R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Betty Wade Arnold of
  Tyler were deeply saddened by her death on September 16, 2023, at
  the age of 82; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Virginia McKinney and Morris S.
  Wade, the former Betty Wade was born in Kilgore on January 26, 1941,
  and she grew up with the companionship of a brother, Max; she
  attended Tyler High School, where she was a cheerleader; and
         WHEREAS, She met the love of her life, Milton Arnold, while
  participating in a hayride at her church, and the couple shared a
  rewarding marriage that spanned nearly six and a half decades;
  Mrs. Arnold was the proud mother of two children, Amy and Wade, and
  she experienced the joy of seeing her treasured family grow to
  include four grandchildren, Justin, Heather, Addison, and Davis, as
  well as three great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, For 27 years, Mrs. Arnold worked for the Tyler
  Independent School District; she initially served on the staff at
  Clarkston Elementary School, and she later became executive
  secretary to the head of elementary education; active in her
  community, she volunteered with her husband for Meals on Wheels and
  the West Erwin Benevolence Center; she was also a charter member of
  Glenwood Church of Christ, and at the time of her passing, she was
  actively involved with the Shiloh Road Church of Christ; above all
  else, she enjoyed spending time with loved ones and friends, and she
  delighted in opening her home to host holiday celebrations and
  other special events; and
         WHEREAS, Although Betty Arnold is deeply missed, those who
  held her dear will forever remember the warmth and kindness she
  brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 3rd
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Betty Wade
  Arnold and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family:
  to her husband, Milton Arnold; to her daughter, Amy Clark, and her
  husband, Joe; to her son, Wade Arnold, and his wife, Amber; to her
  grandchildren, Justin Clark and his wife, Rebekah, Heather Clark,
  Addison Arnold, and Davis Arnold; to her great-grandchildren; to
  her nephew, Randy Wade, and his wife, Sherril; to her
  sister-in-law, Ann Krum; and to her other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Betty Wade Arnold.
