SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 165
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Nicolas O. Estrada
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Nicolas O.
  Estrada, who died January 26, 2011, at the age of 91; and
         WHEREAS, Nicolas O. Estrada was born in La Barca, Jalisco,
  Mexico, on September 10, 1919, to Jose Guadalupe Estrada and
  Porfiria Ortiz; he served his country with valor and steadfast
  patriotism in the United States Army, and he fought at the Battle
  of the Bulge during World War II; he later retired from civil
  service at Lackland Air Force Base; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, he was known for his
  integrity, strong character, and generosity and was respected
  for his many accomplishments; and
         WHEREAS, Nicolas Estrada was a devoted father and
  grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
  for years to come by his family, his many friends, and all those
  who had the good fortune of knowing this dynamic and caring man;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby honor the memory of Nicolas O. Estrada and
  extend sincere condolences to his bereaved family; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Nicolas Estrada.
