SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1235
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Gregory S. Smith for his exemplary service to his
  community, state, and country; and
 
         WHEREAS, Gregory Smith has served as a minister for more
  than 16 years and is a leading citizen in his community; he also
  plans and leads missionary projects abroad and oversees a 24-hour
  prayer line; and
 
         WHEREAS, Since 1998, he has served as the corporate chaplain
  for Hotel Equities, a position which entails visiting each property
  on a regular basis; he also is the founder of InStep International,
  a nonprofit organization that partners with others to participate
  in missionary and humanitarian causes; he has traveled extensively
  to encourage and train others to take up these causes, and his
  missions have included visiting such countries as England, Russia,
  and China; and
 
         WHEREAS, When he is not abroad, he spends much of his time
  and energy on community and charitable events; he is dedicated to
  helping those in need and to improving the quality of life for as
  many people as possible; a highly respected leader in our state
  and an asset to our country, he is an exemplary individual who
  represents the best of Texas citizenry; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Gregory S. Smith for his dedication
  to his work as a minister and for his outstanding citizenship and
  many achievements; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
