SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the citizens of Houston who are participating in the
  27th Annual Texas Lunar Festival, which is being held on January
  28, 2023, in Houston; and
         WHEREAS, Each year, the Texas Lunar Festival brings
  together people of diverse backgrounds and nationalities to
  enjoy a range of cultural offerings in celebration of the Chinese
  New Year; the festival provides international entertainment and
  the opportunity to learn about Asian culture and traditions as
  participants welcome in the new year with hopes for good fortune
  and good health; and
         WHEREAS, The Chinese calendar this year welcomes the year
  of the Rabbit, and this year's festival marks an important
  traditional holiday and is an occasion for citizens across the
  state to gather in celebration and for others to join in viewing
  the event from locations around the globe; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Lunar Festival has played a vital role
  in highlighting Houston's diversity and culture for almost three
  decades, and this year's event is sure to offer an entertaining
  and enriching experience for all who attend; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby commend all who are taking part in the 27th
  Annual Texas Lunar Festival and extend to all participants of
  this exemplary event best wishes for a successful and memorable
  celebration; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special occasion.
