| WHEREAS, In House Concurrent Resolution No. 36, Acts of the | ||
| 79th Legislature, Regular Session, 2005, the Texas Legislature | ||
| authorized the State Preservation Board to approve the construction | ||
| of a monument on the Capitol grounds recognizing Texans who served | ||
| in the Vietnam War; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Although the monument has yet to be installed, the | ||
| legislature supports continued authorization for its construction | ||
| and for its placement at the location approved by the State | ||
| Preservation Board; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the 82nd Legislature of the State of Texas | ||
| hereby express continued support for the construction of a monument | ||
| on the Capitol grounds, at the location approved by the State | ||
| Preservation Board, recognizing Texans who served in the Vietnam | ||
| War; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Texas secretary of state forward an | ||
| official copy of this resolution to the executive director and | ||
| members of the State Preservation Board. | ||
