A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the creation of the criminal offense of unlawful
  solicitation of residence address.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Chapter 38, Penal Code, is amended by adding
  Section 38.155 to read as follows:
         Sec. 38.155.  UNLAWFUL SOLICITATION OF RESIDENCE ADDRESS.  
  (a) A person commits an offense if the person requests, in exchange
  for anything of value, the residence address of an individual the
  person knows or reasonably believes to be a customs and border
  protection officer or border patrol agent of the United States
  Customs and Border Protection or a peace officer engaged in law
  enforcement activities related to border security with the intent
  to cause harm or a threat of harm to the individual or a member of
  the individual's family or household.
         (b)  An offense under this section is a felony of the first
  degree.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the
  last day of the legislative session.
