| relating to the creation of the criminal offense of unlawful | ||
| solicitation of residence address. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 38, Penal Code, is amended by adding | ||
| Section 38.155 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 38.155. UNLAWFUL SOLICITATION OF RESIDENCE ADDRESS. | ||
| (a) A person commits an offense if the person requests, in exchange | ||
| for anything of value, the residence address of an individual the | ||
| person knows or reasonably believes to be a customs and border | ||
| protection officer or border patrol agent of the United States | ||
| Customs and Border Protection or a peace officer engaged in law | ||
| enforcement activities related to border security with the intent | ||
| to cause harm or a threat of harm to the individual or a member of | ||
| the individual's family or household. | ||
| (b) An offense under this section is a felony of the first | ||
| degree. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | ||
| last day of the legislative session. | ||
