S.B. No. 685

AN ACT
relating to the applicability of open meetings and public
information laws to the education research center advisory board.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Sections 1.006(b) and (e), Education Code, are
amended to read as follows:
(b) The advisory board is considered to be [not] a
governmental body for purposes of Chapters [Chapter] 551 and [or]
552, Government Code.
(e) The advisory board shall meet at least quarterly. To
the extent and in the manner authorized by Chapter 551, Government
Code, any [Any] meeting of the advisory board may be conducted by
electronic means, including a meeting by telephone conference call,
by video conference call, through the Internet, or by any
combination of those means.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
