| relating to the employment of full-time registered nurses at public | ||
| schools. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 33, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 33.910 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 33.910. EMPLOYMENT OF REGISTERED NURSES. A school | ||
| district or open-enrollment charter school shall: | ||
| (1) employ at least one full-time registered nurse at | ||
| each campus of the district or school; and | ||
| (2) maintain an average ratio of not less than one | ||
| full-time registered nurse for every 750 students enrolled at the | ||
| district or school. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2023-2024 | ||
| school year. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
