BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 443, Health and Safety | ||
Code, is amended by adding Section 443.2055 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 443.2055. DISTRIBUTION OR SALE OF CERTAIN FLAVORED | ||
CONSUMABLE HEMP PRODUCTS PROHIBITED. (a) A person commits an | ||
offense if the person knowingly distributes, sells, or possesses | ||
with intent to distribute or sell a consumable hemp product that is | ||
marketed or packaged to appear similar to a candy. | ||
(b) An offense under this section is a felony of the second | ||
degree. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
