| relating to the composition of the governing body of certain | ||
| regional planning commissions. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 391.006, Local Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | ||
| (c) If a county participating in a commission has a | ||
| population of 3.3 million or more, the governing body of the | ||
| commission must have: | ||
| (1) two members representing each participating | ||
| county; and | ||
| (2) as representatives of each participating | ||
| municipality: | ||
| (A) two members; and | ||
| (B) for a municipality with a population over | ||
| 100,000, an additional representative for each 250,000 population | ||
| increment. | ||
| SECTION 2. A regional planning commission to which Section | ||
| 391.006(c), Local Government Code, as added by this Act, applies | ||
| shall select members of its governing body as required by that | ||
| section not later than January 1, 2012. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
