BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 41.0052, Election Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | ||
(f) The governing body of a city may change the date on which | ||
it holds its general election for officers to the November uniform | ||
election date if the change is approved by at least two-thirds of | ||
the governing body. A change made under this section supersedes a | ||
city charter provision that requires a different general election | ||
date. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
