| WHEREAS, Carolyn Witherspoon is retiring as the executive | ||
| director of the Coalition of Health Services, Inc., in Amarillo in | ||
| December 2023, drawing to a close an exceptional tenure with the | ||
| organization that has spanned a quarter century; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Witherspoon first joined the Coalition of | ||
| Health Services in March 1998 as a quality assurance coordinator, | ||
| and she became executive director two years later; under her | ||
| guidance, the coalition has excelled in its mission of enhancing | ||
| the well-being of residents of the Texas Panhandle by fostering | ||
| coordination among healthcare facilities and supporting ongoing | ||
| health initiatives in a 32-county area; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Active in her professional community, | ||
| Ms. Witherspoon has served as a director and as president of the | ||
| National Cooperative of Health Networks Association, and she was | ||
| recognized as the NCHN Outstanding Network Leader of the Year in | ||
| 2013; she is a graduate of Dimmitt High School and studied at West | ||
| Texas A&M University; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Carolyn Witherspoon has distinguished herself | ||
| through her dedication, expertise, and commitment to benefiting her | ||
| fellow Texans, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career | ||
| well spent as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; | ||
| now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Carolyn | ||
| Witherspoon on her retirement as the executive director of the | ||
| Coalition of Health Services, Inc., and extend to her sincere best | ||
| wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Witherspoon as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
