| WHEREAS, Melinda Dae has ably served her fellow Texans as an | ||
| intern in the office of State Representative Jacey Jetton during | ||
| the summer of 2021; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Dae has provided vital | ||
| assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in | ||
| addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public | ||
| service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the | ||
| issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Dae is a student at St. Agnes Academy in Houston | ||
| and has distinguished herself through her involvement in a host of | ||
| extracurricular and volunteer activities; in addition to being | ||
| elected to the St. Agnes student council's student advisory | ||
| committee, she has excelled in debate competitions; among other | ||
| achievements, she has earned multiple Top Speaker for Public Forum | ||
| awards, elevated her standing with the National Speech & Debate | ||
| Association, and placed second in Programmed Oral Interpretation at | ||
| the NSDA South Texas District Tournament in July 2021; her | ||
| contributions to her school community were honored with an | ||
| Outstanding Citizenship Award from the Fort Bend Independent School | ||
| District in 2020; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her | ||
| duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is | ||
| indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Melinda Dae for her | ||
| service as a legislative intern in the office of State | ||
| Representative Jacey Jetton and extend to her sincere best wishes | ||
| for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Dae as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
