R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Melinda Dae has ably served her fellow Texans as an |
|
|
intern in the office of State Representative Jacey Jetton during |
|
|
the summer of 2021; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Dae has provided vital |
|
|
assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in |
|
|
addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|
|
service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Dae is a student at St. Agnes Academy in Houston |
|
|
and has distinguished herself through her involvement in a host of |
|
|
extracurricular and volunteer activities; in addition to being |
|
|
elected to the St. Agnes student council's student advisory |
|
|
committee, she has excelled in debate competitions; among other |
|
|
achievements, she has earned multiple Top Speaker for Public Forum |
|
|
awards, elevated her standing with the National Speech & Debate |
|
|
Association, and placed second in Programmed Oral Interpretation at |
|
|
the NSDA South Texas District Tournament in July 2021; her |
|
|
contributions to her school community were honored with an |
|
|
Outstanding Citizenship Award from the Fort Bend Independent School |
|
|
District in 2020; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Melinda Dae for her |
|
|
service as a legislative intern in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Jacey Jetton and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Dae as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
