	H.R. No. 71



	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
	passing of Kathryn Morales on September 16, 2021, at the age of 56;
	and
	WHEREAS, Born on February 18, 1965, Kathryn Morales was a
	talented athlete in her youth; while attending high school, she
	played on a number of sports teams, and she particularly
	distinguished herself as a high-scoring forward on the school's
	basketball team; and
	WHEREAS, After moving to Houston in the mid-1980s,
	Ms. Morales was employed with The University of Texas Health
	Science Center for more than a decade; she went on to work for
	several landscaping companies, and she eventually rose to the
	position of landscape specialist, overseeing a crew of workers;
	during her tenure, she became an expert on numerous topics related
	to landscape architecture, such as issue assessment, irrigation
	diagnosis, landscape restoration, and botany; and
	WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Morales benefited from the
	love and support of her spouse, Debbie, with whom she shared a
	fulfilling union that spanned more than three decades; over the
	years, the couple opened their home to many animals, including
	their most recent pets, Piper and Jaxson; in her leisure time,
	Ms. Morales indulged her love of cars and the outdoors, and she put
	her gardening talents to work in her own yard, which reflected her
	deep appreciation for a well-manicured lawn; and
	WHEREAS, Although Kathryn Morales will be deeply missed,
	memories of her strength of character, her passion for life, and her
	devotion to her loved ones remain to comfort and inspire those she
	leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
	Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
	of Kathryn Morales and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of
	her family: to her spouse, Debbie Trevino; to her siblings, Linda
	and Nicholas Morales; and to her other relatives and friends; and,
	be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
	Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kathryn
	Morales.
