R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Young Republican Federation
  from throughout the state are gathering in Austin on March 4, 2013,
  for Texas Young Republican Legislative Day; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Young Republican Federation is a volunteer
  service organization for conservative young professionals,
  activists, and politicians in the 18- to 40-year-old demographic;
  these dedicated young men and women work tirelessly to support
  local, statewide, and federal candidates for elected office; during
  the last election, members of the group contacted some 35,000
  voters, raised tens of thousands of dollars, and traveled across
  the state and nation to campaign for Republican candidates; and
         WHEREAS, Uniting individuals with an interest in public
  affairs, the federation hosts retreats and training seminars to
  foster personal and professional growth; the organization is also
  involved in a wide range of community and charitable endeavors,
  with members taking part in such worthwhile programs as Boys & Girls
  Clubs of America, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Habitat for
  Humanity; and
         WHEREAS, Participants in Texas Young Republican Legislative
  Day are meeting with elected officials to discuss issues important
  to younger voters and are sharing their perspectives on a range of
  policy matters, and in so doing, they are helping to build an even
  brighter and more prosperous future for the Lone Star State; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize March 4, 2013, as Texas Young
  Republican Legislative Day and extend to the delegation sincere
  best wishes for an enjoyable and memorable visit to Austin; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the federation as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
