R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Eddie and Gladys Dantzler of Holland,
Texas, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on January 26,
2011; and
WHEREAS, Eddie Dantzler and the former Gladys Persky were
united in matrimony in Brooklyn, New York, in 1941; through the
years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made
even richer with the addition of two children, Pat and David
Dantzler, as well as five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren,
and five great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Dantzler are longtime residents of
Holland; after serving his nation in the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr.
Dantzler worked for Halliburton until his retirement in 1985; Mrs.
Dantzler has been a dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage;
and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Eddie and Gladys Dantzler on their
70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dantzler as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
