WHEREAS, Daryl L. Smith has been elected to the office of | ||
Fort Bend County constable for Precinct 2, and he is indeed | ||
deserving of special recognition; and | ||
WHEREAS, Constables are tasked with executing all civil and | ||
criminal processes recorded in Fort Bend County and the State of | ||
Texas, including civil citations, notices, writs, subpoenas, and | ||
criminal arrest warrants; they also receive all misdemeanor arrest | ||
warrants from the district attorney's office, and as members of law | ||
enforcement, they are called to act on requests for assistance from | ||
their constituents; Mr. Smith prevailed in the general election | ||
held on November 6, 2018, and as constable for Precinct 2, he | ||
presides over an area that includes Missouri City and other | ||
communities in the northeastern corner of the county; and | ||
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of | ||
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts | ||
of Daryl Smith will help to make Fort Bend County an even better | ||
place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Daryl L. Smith on his election as | ||
Fort Bend County constable for Precinct 2 and extend to him sincere | ||
best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Constable Smith as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
